Performance Summary

Performance Summary is aimed to give the user a fast and simple overview of the performance of the specified truck. This calculation gives a summary of key indicators of the performance for the chosen specification. The Performance Summary can also be printed and used as a part of a customer quote in VSS.

Performance Summary will tell you (click on each keyword for more information):

1. Economic Speed Range, Speed Range top gear

   The economical speed range of the engine (rpm) and corresponding vehicle speed in top gear (km/h).

2. Sweet Spot Speed Range, Speed Range top gear

   The optimal, most fuel-sufficient rpm range and cruising speed at top gear.

3. Max. Nominal Speed

   The maximum vehicle speed at maximum engine speed.

4. Grade Speed

   The maximum speed in which the truck can be driven at a 3% and 8% gradient (constant uphill road). The matching gear is shown within brackets. The grades can be changed in Main Window>>Calculations>>Options.

5. Max. Gradeability

   Max. Hill-climbing ability. Maximum road gradient in top gear (first line) and second highest gear (second line). Minimum requirements are shown to the right.

6. Gradeability (at Speed Limiter)

   Maximum road gradient the truck will manage at chosen top speed.

7. Startability

   Maximum road gradient at which the truck is able to start uphill at crawled gear (fist line) and first gear (second line). Minimum requirements are shown to the right.

8. Requirement

   Shows a value for the VTC minimum hillclimbing and starting requirements for the selected application.

9. NOTE! Warning

   If the Performance Specification does not attain to the VTC minimum requirements a STOP sign will show at the side. In Main Menu>>Options>>Warning is the option to turn this function On or Off. If set to Warning>>Off, no check will be done and no sign will show insufficient performance.

10. Speedometer

    Some of the calculated values are shown in the Speedometer:

    • The dark green area is the Economy Speed Range.

    • The purple indicator shows Max. Gradeability (top gear).

    • The red indicator shows the chosen Speed limit.

    •  The blue area is the Performance Range.

The main benefits of Performance Summary is the opportunity to evaluate the Specification regarding to :

1. Adequate starting capacity - Startability

2. Hill climbing capacity in the highest gear - Gradeability

3. Right cruising speed for

   • and maximum Driveability
