To move a vehicle at constant speed a certain amount of power is needed to overcome air resistance, rolling resistance and other driveline loses. The power that is left is called Reserve Power. The reserve power indicate how well you can accelerate the vehicle or how well you can manage an incline. Therefore this indicates the driving properties of the build specification.
Under Calculation>>Options you can set any incline you want to calculate reserve power at. Default value [0]. The reserve power is most suitable for small grades.
To be able to benefit from the reserve power graph an reference is needed. Enter a different Engine or Gearbox in Main Window>>Alt 1, Alt 2 etc.

Example
If we want to compare the Reserve power with two different engines D9A380-EU3 and D9B300-EU3. The result gives us that on the highest gear D9A380-EU3 has more reserve power than D9B300-EU3. Therefore D9A380-EU3 has an advantage when an incline occur.
Note that some of the resistance is speed dependent, for example air resistance. Therefore the reserve power is reduced with higher speed.
